With thousands of new trucks hitting the road each month, environmental agencies and trucking officials are mindful of the need for cleaner engines. 鈥淭he U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has made $9 million in grant funding available for clean diesel projects to reduce diesel pollution and emissions exposure from the nation’s existing fleet of diesel engines,鈥� reports TruckingInfo.com. 鈥淭he funding comes from EPA鈥檚 Diesel Emission Reduction Program, targeting what the agency says are the most cost-effective projects and fleets operating in areas designated as poor air quality areas. Highway funding solution proposed as more trucks hit the road
As more trucks hit the road, lawmakers continue to look for a way to respond with much-needed highway repairs. 鈥淗ouse Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-Mich.)
